Holiday Weekend

HI! We hope everyone had a great extended holiday weekend!!

Chad and I got to take a little mini-vacation this weekend while Grandma and Grandpa Preister got to spend some extra special time with Charli! Chad and I went "tanking" with some friends "out west"!! For those of you who don't know what that is, including my friend Courtney who lives in IOWA of all places (!!!), it is exactly what it sounds like!! We took two big plastic cow-watering tanks and float down the river! (there are built in seats) We got on the water around 11:00 and docked our tanks at 6:00, it truly didn't feel like we spent seven hours on the water, but my shoulders feel like it today!! We had a great time!! It was a nice and relaxing experience and fun memories with friends! We camped that night and enjoyed Brad's breakfast in the morning! Chad didn't enjoy the camping part, but I expect to make another tanking trip next year :-)

Charli got to spend all of Saturday and about 1/2 of Sunday with her grandparents...I hope those are memories never to be forgotten! They took her to church Saturday night and out to eat we hear!! I am pretty sure Grandpa (and Grandma too) like to show off their little Charli!!

We took Charli to the state fair today, and she seemed to enjoy herself there too! I thought for sure she would fall asleep before the GOOD stuff, but she stayed up the entire time! She got to see dogs jumping in water, pirates diving off of planks, goats, cows, pigs, sheep, zebras and lots more!!! She even knew what a "bobcat" was thanks to her daddy!!

Enjoy the pictures :-)

Because we are from NEBRASKA I had to throw this picture in! This sculpture is made of Cheese! Yep Courtney...CHEESE :-)

I thought sandcastles were tough! Imagine building this!!

the traveling wall...

Charli got new sunglasses today! They have "pretties" on the side like moms!

she really liked to feed the animals!

and so did daddy...!

so cool, gotta wear shades!

lucky daddy, this was going on JUST as we walked in!

OOOHHH, scary!!!

when we were watching the pirate show she kept saying "puppy watch, puppy see"

more feeding animals!

i love this picture!! Charli really enjoyed this, but you can see that her daddy loved helping her do it even more!! Too sweet :-)

WHAT? No "tanking" pics? Come on, even hicks can buy disposable camera's, right? ;) Cute CUTE pics from the fair! Oh, and nice cheese sculpture....but has anyone ever told you about the HUGE BUTTER cow at the Iowa State fair? It's pretty much the size of big cow and made of ALL butter. Looks like you had a great time!!!!
