free falling!

Charli was full of funny and important things to say this weekend!

Chad took her on a drive the other day, because she wanted to see something "neat". He took her to see Lake North...she is certain it is the ocean, and is in total awe of it!

While saying prayers the other night I gave her free reign on what to say, with no hints or cues. She said "Dear God, thank you for taking my cancer away. Thank you for my angels, mommy and daddy, who took care of me when I was sick." and later she added "Thank you for daddy who washes my blanket, it keeps me warm"!

Her new phrase is "I'm serious"

She has learned what 9-1-1 is for and is now practicing "what do you do if a stranger offers you something" and "what do you do if a stranger wants to give you a ride". At this moment she is quizzing Harper on what to do too!

I am starting to see, day by day, how fast she is growing up and I am not sure how that happened! When did she get old enough to put her own shoes on, play by her self, eat all her food, ride a bike, and get dressed without my input or help? Her Independence is a scary thing...this world is a scary place when you love someone so innocent.

Enjoy the pictures!

Charli was running across the room to jump into her beanbag! So much fun! Her faces were priceless!

I bet she asked me to take 50 pictures while she did this! She was having so much fun, and Harper enjoyed taking in every second of it! He even tried his best at crawling as fast as he could to flop on it too!!

BOOM!

JOY!

Harper was able to enjoy some alone play time for a bit this weekend...and he eats it up! He is so very busy...probably busier than Charli has ever been, including now! It is impossible to get a picture of him, because he is always on the go!

sharing some sucker time! Harper got green to match his shirt and Charli got blue to match hers!

so pretty!

Harper was enjoying the sucker, and Charli was enjoying teaching him how to eat it.

mmmmm!

one day they will look back and think...the good days!

counted blessings, twice

Everyone has moments in their life when they think the bottom is falling out...and hopefully we also have moments where we feel like life can't get any better than right now! I guess finding the balance is where happiness lays...or knowing that when the bottom is falling it, it just means you will be on the uphill slide soon!? Either way, I guess life is all about what you make it, and how you look at your glass. I tend to think that if you always see your glass 1/2 empty -- it will always feel empty and when you see your glass 1/2 full it will always seem full! What I am getting at I guess is in the past few days I have been reflecting on how full my glass is, and even at the times it is starting to feel a little 1/2 empty I realize that life is what WE make of it! So...tonight I am going to enjoy my 1/2 full glass, because from where I sit my 1/2 glass full seems pretty fulfilling to me!!

Charli and Harper playing with the zhu-zhu pets. It may look like she is taking it from Harper, but she is actually getting ready to share it with him. He thinks these things are great!

Charli's big project! She was so excited to help by putting the stamps on over 120 envelopes to send out posters for our 4th Annual Poker Run. So, if you got an envelope from us for the event the very special postage was put on by our very special inspiration for the event! She was so excited to have a project and so proud of how straight she could stick them!

super-cape! This weekend I spent the night in Lincoln with my sisters to celebrate my oldest nephews college graduation. On our way out of town Rachelle and I stopped and did a little last minute shopping and I picked up this double sided Batman and SpiderMan cape for Charli. She was in heaven...she loves it!

this is one example of why the purple sand must go! It is hard to see in the picture, but it is stuck to her shorts, shirt, legs, and in her hair! She loves to be in her sandbox, but she has to strip down just to come on the porch!

Harper thinks he is big stuff when he hides behind the curtains - Charli will toss sticky toys on the window and he will reach to grab at them, as he hides back there!

hmmm, wonder where he is?!

busted...and he was able to reach two of them! I think he has go-go-gadget legs or something! he was pretty proud!

makes me ask...

Happy Mother's Day everyone!

This day was full of happy surprises! The blessings that I have in my life which I celebrate, and which celebrate me are all because of my husband. This leaves me feeling like i should be celebrating HIM on mother's day! I guess this is why we have Father's Day ;-)

Charli woke up and rolled out of bed to rush straight to her hiding spot for my gift this year, under her bed!! She and Harper got me my first Chimilia bracelet! It has a bead of Charli's birthstone and a bead of Harper's birthstone. Chad let her pick out three other things for my bracelet too, so she picked out another colorful bead and two charms! It was special to begin with, but to know that Charli designed it makes it even more special to me!

On that note -- enjoy the pictures of our kids! Harper cut two teeth this weekend, and they are bugging him a lot! Charli loves that Harper will give her kisses, and enjoys letting him follow her around! She loves that he is her shadow.

she really was stuck! I had my back turned and heard "can someone please help me?!" She saw Chad do this to Harper, and it must have looked like a good idea for those long legs to try!

Wednesday was full of surprises too!! Grandma Jody snuck to Columbus, picked Charli up from daycare after nap, and brought her home to help plant flowers and make me me this special sign for my driveway!! Charli was so proud!

they are so happy together!

Start 'em young ;-)

where has it gone?!

Where has the time gone?! I can not even begin to think about all the things that have gone on the past two weeks! I have been kept on my toes with multiple things going one now-a-days!

The kids are doing great. Charli has done a lot of growing up lately. Harper is amazing me by how fast he makes time go. Hard to believe how fast times goes with him. I thought the days went quickly with Charli, but with Harper they are in super-speed or something.

All those times people said to me "you just wait until you have more than one" and I thought "um, yeah, okay"...well I get it! I understand why things are so different the second time around. For those of you with two or more, you are shaking your head up and down agreeing with me. For those of you with one or less, you are shaking your head side to side, saying it will never happen to you! Trust me, it will :-)

Either way, life is great...God is good, and among all the chaos and stress -- I wouldn't change a solitary second.

Sorry for no pictures this time, but I will post soon. Hopefully this weekend and next week will offer a few more free minutes!!

take care and HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY to all of you amazing moms out there! And, you know who you are!!

a year of Sunday's

I would love to have a year full of Sunday's! The kids were great in Church, as always, and had a good nap to re-fuel! After nap we loaded up to headed to see the goats and ride 4-wheelers! Charli is a natural on 4-wheels! She could ride for hours I think! Her daddy kind of enjoyed sharing that with her too I think :-) We ended the night with supper at grandma & grandpa's house, which Charli got to help make!

Next week is a RFL benefit concert hosted at our church on Saturday night. If you are in the area and interested in attending, let me know!!

don't let the face fool you - he had a great time outside! He is big into faces right now and "crinkle nose" and "fish lips" are big right now!!

"give me rocks mom!"

what a show off!

"wanna race dad?!"

I think Harper had much more fun with me :-)

snapshots of life

sometimes we all just talk too much, and don't pay attention to what is in front of us. Tonight I am not going to do that. I am going to let these amazing moments speak for themselves. You can see the love in Charli's eyes when she looks at Harper, and Harper adores her. God has given me far more than I deserve, which I have talked about before...none of us get what we deserve - we are blessed with all we have.

Relay For Life

The following is a letter I will be sending out to some, those who I have addresses for! Please take a minute to read it. Please consider making a donation to our team. We have such passion for what we are doing with the ACS and are working extremely hard to make finding a cure a reality in our lifetime!! It takes a lot of work, a lot of dedication, and a lot of faith...but it WILL happen! Please don't think that you need make a large donation to make a difference. I will say this for the rest of my life, if ten of you can make a $10 donation, that $100 will make the same impact as someone who is able to donate $100!! Each dollar is important and life altering for someone out there...someone we may never know, or that someone may be one of us.

Contact me to find out how to submit a donation. In the coming days I will have my Relay webpage set up and an online donation will be an option as well. I just haven't gotten there yet!

Thanks for all of your support in our fight!

Relay For Life of Platte County
June 25-26, 2010
Pawnee Park – Columbus, NE

Celebrating a world with more birthdays!
CELEBRATE * REMEMBER * FIGHT BACK

Like 2008, in 2009 our Relay For Life team, Charli’s Angels, was the #2 team of the county thanks to you and your generosity! Thank you for helping to change and save lives with the over $20,000 that was raised by our team! With your help we are certainly making an impact around the world!

2010 has been filled with joy all around us! In March Charli received great results from her scans, and was given the “all clear” for a FULL YEAR!! This year the relay will help mark her 3rd year of no evidence of disease! This is all thanks to the help and sacrifice people have made years before we were down this road. That is why it is so important for us to help now…down the road someone else will need our help more than ever.

Raising money for cancer research and advocacy is like taking out a life insurance plan…it is something we would like to never use, but know that someone we love may need this help and greatly benefit from our hard work.

Your donation to the Relay For Life will help bring HOPE to people currently battling cancer, and to everyone who may face it in the future. None of us know when we will be touched with cancer next. Through the efforts of the Relay For Life you can also remember someone who has been affected by cancer by honoring them with a luminary.

Funds raised through the American Cancer Society’s Relay For Life are used for research, advocacy, education, treatment, and also patient and community services. As we all know these cannot, and will not, happen without awareness - so we really need your help!

We invite you to come and enjoy the celebration of life and as we honor those who have been fighting so hard and fight back for those who are not able. Together we are making a difference and changing the world…come enjoy what you are making possible!! THANK YOU, on behalf of those you will be helping who are unable to thank you themselves, for all of your to help find a CURE in our lifetime!

busy days and busy nights

We had a busy weekend, which ended with a "bang" I guess. Randy and family were up from Arkansas and we celebrated Grant's big first birthday! He had a swimming party, which his older brother, Cohen, loved!! We went out to the farm Friday - Sunday and the kids got to play together and burn a lot of energy! The evening ended with two sick kids at our house (and one sick birthday boy at the farm)...which was an event that took us well into the morning hours! Charli has a cold/cough which she is doing well with...she coughs a lot in her sleep but seems to be resting okay. Harper has an cold & ear infection and the cold seems to be settled in his eyes makes him looks a mess. So far he is sleeping far-far better than last night, the meds should help his ears and we will get this behind us, not soon enough! Having both kids sick at once makes everything a little less fun:-)

big sister can make some things so much easier now!

Harper tonight! You can see his eyes are glassy and pink..but he gives it his all to still be his happy self!

the three amigos! These are the only girls on the borg side, and they are so much fun together! such crazy hair after jumping on the trampoline!

Harper & Charli on Easter...impossible to get a decent picture of them together with so many fun things going on!

Ryen - 7, Macey -4, Charli -3

Chad and Ryen hiding eggs!

Harper & Ryen

these kids were having so much fun with grandpa!
Ryen - Charli - Macey - Colton - Cohen

Harper didn't swim because we could tell he was not feeling his normal self...I am sure he will enjoy the water plenty this summer!

this is a picture of my dad as a baby...I have had so many people tell me that Harper looks like him! I can see my nephew Derek from time to time too...what a handsome little boy my daddy was :-)

no fair. we NEVER got to jump on the furniture when I was little...these kids get to do it all the time!! And, grandma and grandpa turn their head like they don't even know it's going on. PLEASE!!!

cheese-balls!!! Thumbs up if Brenda is the coolest! Yep...I knew it :-)

Harper got his first haircut Friday night. Boys are such high maintenance things with their routine haircuts!

Charli never gets tired of seeing Harper stand up! Each time he does it she get so excited like it was his first time! He pulls himself up to everything all the time, and each time she yells so I can see what buddy is doing now. She is so proud of him!
